本州の山地に生えるクマザサの葉で見られる。インドに分布するS. bambusaeに似るが、触角がより細いこと、腹部第9-10背板の刺毛がより長いことで識別できる

This species occurs on leaf of Sasa veitchii in the mountainous area of Honshu, Japan. It is very similar to S. bambusae (Shumsher, 1946) distributed in India but it can be distinguished from the latter species by more slender antennal segments and longer setae on tergite IX and X.
